Hi everyone!
A server update has just been applied.
Server update active now:
Outposts: Turrets on outposts now have fixed locations.
Outposts: Turret weapons are now good by default, previously normal.
Outposts: Armor and Shield upgrades are now more powerful.
Subsystems: Enabled Bastion and Target Relay subsystems.
Sector Rewards: Payouts are calculated every 30 minutes.
Sector Rewards: Payouts are divided between all members.
Sector Rewards: War, Trade and Maintenance effects added.
Sector Rewards: Payout is now daily.
Research: Reduced research parts needed for Corvette and Destroyer hulls.
Currency: After many months, old currency has been removed.
Battle: Nebulas and EMP Storms have had their energy drain/generation adjusted.
Due to a bigger change in the battle engine, previous replays are no longer available and the top replay board has been cleared. ( The next version will also include more replay lists and an option to view them from battle reports )
Bastion and Target Relay:
These subsystems are now active and can be crafted for Battleships. Please remember as they are a completely new feature in the game I will be balancing them, so expect their charge times/durations/strength to change.
These ability based subsystems also have different stats available to them, for example the added stats for Bastion subsystems all focus on defense. Target relay has a focus on offense.
The next update will add subsystems to Destroyers and add a few named subsystems.
Named subsystems are unique and offer an extra passive change to ships, e.g. some named subsystems give a chance for extra projectiles to fire.
A note on Sector Rewards:
Rewards are getting a rebalance and new features added. There are now 4 parts to each payout:
- Generation: This is a flat rate paid by the Outpost, it increases with the Outposts level.
- Maintenance: This reduces the payout over the first day after capturing, it goes down over 24 hours.
- War: Each neighbouring sector you are at war with will reduce your payout.
- Trade: Each neighbouring sector you own, or are allied with will increase your payout.
Payouts are also split between all Corporation members rather than being a fixed amount given to everyone, the previous method was very flawed. This way smaller corps can benefit from holding less sectors and larger corps will need to hold more, so keeping active players in your corp is now more important. I am also working on adding the event breakdown so you can see how active your corp members are during events.
Payout reports are now send to the corporation feed and include the previous days earnings, so you can compare. This will look strange for the first few days as the previous numbers won't be right as the system was not active.
As these payouts are all new and the calculation is new I will monitor it and I will balance it based on feedback and results.
